NexTech raises another million dollar investment. This new round totals $1,161,780 and follows a July round of $1,589,500 led by company insiders, including CEO Evan Gappleberg. He tells his story to Yahoo finance.

Westworld Awakening VR game from Survios available now. From VR games developer Servios in partnership with HBO, this single player title takes players inside the world of the popular HBO series. Something to tide us over until Season 3 next year. Available now on Oculus Store, Viveport, and Steam for $29.99.

Sony acquires Insomniac Games. The developers, best known for the Spyro and Ratchet & Clank games, are currently a part of Oculus Studios delivering three exclusive Oculus titles. The team’s upcoming VR title Stormland, which some see as the first AAA VR title, is still releasing under Oculus Studios but the acquisition by a competitor could spell a different future for the developer than Oculus had originally planned. Private AR theater DreamGlass Air launches Kickstarter campaign for pre-orders. The AR headset connects to most any device for use as a wired monitor, or in the case of smartphones a wireless one. Touting a 90 degree FOV and 2K resolution screen, the wearable aims to solve the isolation factor of occluded headsets. You can pre-order a headset for $269 with delivery expected this December. 

A fourth Matrix movie is in the works. So far both Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss have confirmed they will be reprising their roles in a new installment of the famed VR centric feature. According to Variety, production on the new film should begin in 2020. The announcement coincides with the return of the first Matrix films to select AMC theaters next week, August 30th.
