Madefire has been committed to making “motion comics,” or digital versions of comic books that leap off the page with animated visuals. Now, the company is announcing that it is showing off its first Motion Book experiences on Magic Leap ‘s augmented reality glasses. The Madefire platform isn’t a mere app that runs on the Magic Leap One Creator Edition, the development version of Florida-based Magic Leap’s AR glasses that sells for $2,300.

Magic Leap One Now On Sale To Developers For $2295

Nearly four years after it was first teased to the world, the first Magic Leap augmented reality headset is now on sale to developers. Magic Leap One, as the device is called, can be purchased through the company’s website as a Creator Edition for $2,295. Similar to Microsoft’s $3,000 HoloLens, the device can project virtual images into the real world that you can interact with using a remote-like controller (though HoloLens uses gesture controls).

Magic Leap is suing nReal. Magic Leap has sued Chi Xu, the founder of nReal. According to Magic Leap, the company has been able to create these intriguing devices so fast only because Chi Xu was a former Magic Leap employee. Magic Leap believes that Xu has stolen some technologies that Magic Leap was working on, with the only purpose of building his own company.

The Florida company has released during the GDC the Lumin SDK, that is the development kit that has to be used to develop for LuminOS, the custom operating system of the Magic Leap device.
