Sony invests $250M in Epic Games. Sony has announced that it has made a big investment of $250M in Epic Games through one of its subsidiaries. The investment gives Sony a minority stake in Epic that now is evaluated at more than $17B. And Sony for sure wants to have a stake in the metaverse. Top news of the week.

He said that Apple is going to “ make VR into something everybody wants before it’s something that everybody can afford ”, like the original Oculus The trademark XROS has been registered by a shell company owned by Apple. Magic Leap has factories in the US and Mexico able to produce AR glasses. That’s so sad.

While Oculus is getting all the glory for the Quest, its competitors are not sleeping. Huawei has upgraded its sleek VR glasses and now they support 6DOF movement and 6DOF controllers that are very similar to the Oculus Touch. Notwithstanding all this hate, the Oculus Quest 2 is selling very well. Other relevant news.

It doesn’t seem to be on par with the Oculus Quest 2, but as a first device by Nolo, it is not that bad. But what I have learned in the past is that a headset must be tried and numbers never tell the full story, so I hope I can try this to tell you how good it is. Magic Leap partners with AMD for its next-generation device.

Sony aims at hybrid games for the PSVR 2. Regarding the software it is looking for, it seems that Sony is very interested in AAA games with added VR support.

Yes, the biggest companies were not there with a booth (Oculus will probably target the OC6, HTC the VEC, etc…), but it is the first time that I read the XR news from CES and I dont’ remain surprised.
