Immerse , a language learning startup focusing on teaching English in VR, has secured a $1.5 million Series A investment, something the company says will allow them to both expand the current product to Oculus Quest 2, and set up partnerships with institutions in Spain, South America, and other markets affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This past Friday, Discovery Communications and Google launched the first chapter of Discovery TRVLR, a collaboration that they herald as a “groundbreaking new immersive series,” which aims to provide a 360-degree cross-cultural experience. The experience is described as a “fully immersive training simulator broken up into two distinct games, set in the world of Ghostbusters.” That includes venues in 38 countries, including many across the United States and others in Europe, Australia, Asia, South America and New Zealand.
