Dodge Lasers In This Mixed Reality Heist Game

Step into the shoes of a world-class spy in this multiplayer mixed reality adventure.

Valo Motion, a purveyor of mixed reality entertainment, recently unveiled a new multiplayer game available now at ValoArena locations around the world.

In Operation Money Grab, up to six players team up to take on a gauntlet of heist-themed puzzles while stealing heaps of virtual valuables. According to the company, the game is designed to immerse you in the role of the main protagonist in a big-budget Hollywood spy movie.

Based on the footage provided, it appears as though we can expect plenty of high-stakes challenges, from evading laser security cameras to collecting big bags of virtual loot.

“Valo Motion takes great pride in developing ValoArena experiences that get people on their feet and moving”, said Raine Kajastila, CEO and founder of Valo Motion in an official release. “Operation Money Grab is entertaining and physically active fun for everyone.”

“We have already seen how much people love our ValoArena game Groundfall, released in 2022. Groundfall’s development idea was strongly based on the much-played playground game ‘the floor is lava,'” added Lauri Lehtonen, lead developer at Valo Motion. “The popularity of this game made us think about which other playground games we could draw inspiration from. We noticed that quite a few of them are played by moving back and forth in a limited space.”

“This gave rise to the idea of designing a game that would have a series of different challenges that players must go through in the ValoArena play area. That idea eventually developed into the espionage and robbery-themed game Operation Money Grab, where the game challenges vary a lot during one game and the players are taken on a kind of mini-adventure through a building to be robbed.”

Valo Motion sets itself apart from competing location-based entertainment providers with its unique use of motion capture technology. Instead of a headset and motion controllers, players view the in-game world via two large screens and interact with virtual elements across a 5x5m play area using their entire bodies.
