The Unity renderer implementation of foveated rendering, on the other hand is much rougher, and in multiple Unity apps I saw very obvious and harsh artifacts, particularly on text. We are at the same level of Vive Focus or Vive Pro… probably the display is the same made by Samsung. This is the same chip of the Samsung S8 and it is not the latest available for VR: Qualcomm has already released the 845 VR reference design. For instance, in Unity, the Oculus Utilities plugin is the same for PC, Go and GearVR.
