Need For Speed Comes to VR on Google Daydream

The major racing franchise makes its way to the Google’s new VR platform.

Need for Speed is officially making its way to virtual reality thanks to the upcoming Google Daydream mobile VR platform. Electronic Arts will be releasing a variant to their hit mobile title Need For Speed: No Limits that will allow players to race each other head-to-head on the streets of Blackridge in highly-customizable real-world cars, all in virtual reality. While the original game includes over 1,000 challenges and races, it’s still yet to be determined how much will be included in this new version.

While Need For Speed: No Limits is a great racing game in its own right, the really exciting part is that Electronic Arts is involving itself in the Daydream platform right out of the gate. While Google’s technology sounds impressive, Daydream will still need the support of major publishers like EA in order to provide a stellar catalogue of entertainment. The infamous publisher has yet to officially enter the VR market, but has expressed its commitment to the budding industry multiple times.

Need For Speed: No Limits will be available on Google Daydream late this year along with other content like J.K Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, LEGO’s BrickHeadz, Gunjack 2: End of Shift and Ubisoft’s Hungry Sharks. The platform will launch this November alongside the recently-revealed Google Daydream View VR headset
