It’s been a long road for FOVE , the creators of the eye-tracking VR headset that hit Kickstarter last summer, but today the company launches pre-orders for their first commercially available product, the FOVE 0. Display: WQHD OLED (2560 x 1440) 1280 x 1440 per eye. Accessories: Position tracking camera / Face cushion.

This boils down to better eye-tracking – where you can trigger an action merely by directing your gaze at a specific spot, and better gesture recognition (in the demo, the device also scanned Julia’s hands, adjusting to their particular shape and size), rather than relying on the very specific “pinch” action which the original HoloLens relied upon.

The headset will use its eye tracking capabilities to scan the iris of the user and so understand what user has just put on the headset, unlocking itself and maybe also loading the personal preferences; Large scale mapping. Or maybe with the same money, they can directly go to New Zealand (Image by Road To VR).
