You probably have heard about Leap Motion’s Project North Star , that should be able to offer people affordable augmented reality. Notice a Leap Motion sensor installed on top of it. Project North Star is an opensource augmented reality headset that Leap Motion has designed and gifted to the community.

Honestly, I find it a smart idea for this moment, but I also think that HTC has to invest more to have more content on Viveport on the long term if it plans to fight with Oculus and its upcoming Quest. The 8 modes of the Vive Focus Plus. This kind of approach is what we developers need for VR.

The whole event was all about Facebook creating a parent company called Meta that is going to control all the products that until now were in the Facebook’s family, that is Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, Oculus, Portal, and all the rest. Google is still into XR. Ultraleap releases Gemini hands-tracking runtime.

Well, with this new chip, headsets will: Have a resolution of 3K per eye ; Have up to 7 cameras used simultaneously (12 in total for the device). Oculus products have gone pretty well during the Black Weekend. But surprisingly, the Quest has not been the most sold device: the winner has been the Oculus Go.
