There’s a lot that can be said about the Magic Leap One. And although its OS and apps don’t fully utilize the tech available to them, Magic Leap One is an ambitious, well-made, but imperfect MR devkit that doesn’t quite live up to the hype, but is still the most complete and affordable mixed-reality (MR) computer out there.

Matsuda himself subsequently began working in AR following the film's release, leading design teams at both Leap Motion (now Ultraleap) and Microsoft. It's notable that this vision of augmented reality layers is also very similar to one shared by the earlier days of Magic Leap, before the company laid off many of its workers.

Intelligent Digital Humans are a new important trend of XR and Abovitz wants to enter there with the big expertise in art and technology that he has developed at Magic Leap.
