Samsung has sold over 300,000 Gear VR headsets in Europe this year.

Continuing on the record pre-order sales in Europe for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, Samsung has announced an exclusive Gear VR content package for new Galaxy S7 customers.

If you are in Europe and haven’t ordered your S7 yet, for a limited time you will be able to purchase the Samsung Gear VR at a special price and get free access to exclusive premium games.

The bundle includes some of the Oculus Store’s more popular paid content, such as Anshar Wars 2, Darknet, Drift, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Ocean Rift and Starchart. The limited time promo varies depending on your carrier, but will likely be available until early June.

This new bundle promotion follows up on Samsung announcing today that they have already sold over 300,000 Gear VR headsets in Europe this year, a pretty significant number for the region considering last week we found out that Gear VR users hit 1 million for the month of April. Both numbers are milestones for Samsung, Oculus and mobile VR in general.

As Samsung and Oculus continue to lead the mobile VR adoption charge with their Gear VR, content bundle promotions like this and straight out bundling of the headset with S7 purchases like Samsung did back in February are sure keep the VR adoption growth curve flying.

We also have something to look forward to tomorrow when Google holds their I/O developer conference where they are rumored to announce a version of their own mobile VR headset.

Industry analyst house CCS Insight forecasts that revenues for VR headsets globally will reach $10bn by 2020, with Western Europe accounting for $3bn. 4.7mn headsets are expected to be shipped in Western Europe in 2016, with value-priced smartphone VR headsets such as the Gear VR expected to account for 90% of the volume.

In another report released today from Parks Associates for the VR market, consumer research is showing that 2% of U.S. broadband households, or 2.3 million households, own a virtual reality headset. Also in the same survey of 10,000 U.S. broadband households, 5% of U.S. broadband households plan to buy a VR headset in 2016.
