Coors Light Takes Us Outdoors in VR For Summer

This summer Coors Light (aka the ‘Silver bullet’) launches a VR campaign that takes viewers outside. Users are taken big wave surfing, white water kayaking, and downhill mountain biking in thrilling 360 video content for Facebook and YouTube.

Coors is also bringing Google Cardboard headsets to 5,000 bars around America for patrons to take in the action, without worrying about how six cans of the good stuff might affect their balance.

Coors Light has been associating itself with outside fun, mountains, streams, and sports for years, so a unique 360-video campaign makes sense. What really sets it apart is that these videos are actually fun to check out, and exactly the kind of thing people would be showing their buddies at the bar.

The content was produced in collaboration with agency 72&Sunny and production companies RapidVR and UNIT9.

Last year, Jim Beam and Dos Equis were quick to get on the trend of VR in bars, showing off their branded VR experiences for patrons. On Monday, we even visited a virtual reality bar ourselves and shot some pool in the office with Pool Nation VR on the HTC Vive.

The Coors Light VR tour continues this week. Click here for locations, dates and times.
