The Norwegian program uses MR to bring competition to life; letting viewers play along. It was only a matter of time until mixed reality made its way to broadcast television. Developed by The Future Group and FreemantleMedia (the company responsible for American Idol and X Factor ), Lost In Time is a Norwegian game show that uses interactive mixed reality technology combined with a customized green screen studio to transport contestants to different landscapes scattered across time and space.

Speaking on an Entertainment Weekly radio show to be aired on August 15th, actor Jeff Bridges, star of Tron (1982) and sequel Tron: Legacy (2010) , suggested that a third Tron feature should be “the first virtual reality movie.” Posted in a short entry on the Entertainment Weekly website , writer Clark Collis explained that he was prompted to ask about Tron rumours by Bridges’ new collaboration with Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski in upcoming movie Only the Brave.

Wargaming has announced a deal with VRTech, a Moscow-based company, which focuses on VR technology. REDspace announced the release of Gunball , their VR sports/shooter hybrid experience, for Oculus Rift through Steam at a cost of $14.99. The wacky and action-packed game was initially released for HTC Vive in June. After playing Form all I can say is WOW! This game takes trippy cool VR to the next level. The graphics and sound are amazing and the puzzles are really thought out and well constructed. My only wish for Form is that it was longer… I completed the entire game in about an hour and a half but for me, just to have had this kind of experience made it well worth the $20 price of admission!
