PSVR Has More Than 220 New Games And Apps In The Works

Despite big releases in the likes of Resident Evil 7 [ Review: 9/10 ] and Dirt Rally VR , it’s been an undeniably quiet start to the year for PlayStation VR (PSVR), but Sony is promising that won’t last long. The headset maker said this week that more than 220 software titles and experiences are development for the device, and more than 100 of those will be released this year.

PlayStation is Developing New First Party PSVR Titles With Support for Aim Controller

At a PlayStation VR session today at GDC, Sony stated that first-party PSVR titles with support for the new Aim peripheral are in development. Sony’s curious looking Aim controller may not be the coolest looking peripheral out there (a dubious accolade at any rate), but after our hands-on with the device and its first supported title Farpoint was quite positive.

GDC 2017: Star Trek Bridge Crew Will Have ’40 Plus Hours’ of Gameplay

During a press briefing at GDC 2017, Ubisoft’s VP of Digital Publishing, Chris Early revealed that the highly anticipated VR game, Star Trek: Bridge Crew is going to be a “40 plus hour experience.” According to Early, these hours will be distributed over the course of several different game modes. There will be “scripted missions” that follow a more linear story path and give you the chance to follow a cohesive chain of events.

GDC 2017: Microsoft Confirms Windows Holographic Will Not Block Rift or Vive

Microsoft is set to make its move on the VR market later this year when it launches a range of headsets made in partnerships with other companies for its Windows Holographic operating system. The Oculus Rift and HTC Vive may not embrace that new platform, at least not yet, but Microsoft won’t block people from using those gadgets, either.
