Classic VR Zombie Shooter ‘Arizona Sunshine’ Sequel Revealed for PSVR 2 & PC VR

During PlayStation’s gaming showcase today, Vertigo Games unveiled the sequel to its classic zombie-shooting adventure, Arizona Sunshine (2016).

Dubbed Arizona Sunshine 2, the game appears to have taken a page out of Fallout 4’s book by including a four-legged pal named Buddy who seems to be eager as ever to help out in the wasteland.

Notably, the game’s reveal trailer is labeled as a ‘CG trailer’, so it’s unclear how much of the slapstick zombie abuse will translate into gameplay.

Here’s how Vertigo Games describes the sequel:

Welcome back to sun-kissed, zombified Arizona. Narrated by the unmistakable quips of our dark-humored protagonist, Arizona Sunshine 2 sets you on an all-new limb-strewn adventure in search of answers. In a post-apocalyptic world where every bullet counts, experience the thrill of realistic combat as you wield all-new and fan-favorite weapons–from shotguns to machetes and flamethrowers.

And what’s better than braving the end of the f*cking world? Surviving it with your new best friend–Buddy. Not only is Buddy your four-legged companion through thick and thin, he’s also the goodest boy and will help take down those pesky Freds for you. In a desolate world, suddenly you’re not so alone anymore. It’s funny how things go.

The studio confirmed Arizona Sunshine 2 is slated to arrive on PSVR 2 and SteamVR headsets at some point later this year. You can now wishlist it on PlayStation and Steam.

It’s not clear when the sequel will arrive, or whether it will also target Quest like the original. For now, the studio has only confirmed those platforms and that rough launch window.

Cool, the first one was indeed quite a classic.
I hope they put more trains and rails

calling it now – a game not “dumbed down” to run on quest? top 3 top seller on PSVR2; on PCVR it will fight over the bottom of the barrel among other high-end, not-dumbed-down games like Hubris, LONN, Vertigo and a bunch of others. 1000 torrent seeds on day 1, steamvr concurrent player count up to 160 players, dropping to half of it the very next day.

The first one was cheesy but fun. Could have had better textures and such but I liked it. This one is going to look and play great on PS VR 2 and PC. Higher quality is much better than average quality releases. It’s 2023, VR should be getting better. Not held back by limited stand alone headsets.

This and RE4 VR look great for upcoming releases. Besides the other great announcements.

Synapse and Crossfire also look fantastic. Any shooter with the adaptive triggers and haptics on psvr2 are fantastic to play.

You’re literally saying “going to look and play great” based on CG trailer that does not represent neither the graphics or actual gameplay?
Classic butthurt PCVR elitists who can blame PCVR downfall due to existence of standalone lol.

Actually, I don’t play PC VR at all. Makes you look foolish with that comment huh?

It’s being developed for PS5 and PC hardware. It’s not going to look worse than the last release. You know this. I know this. Sense Controllers are way better than Move Controllers. So, there’s more feature immersion potential. You know this. I know this.

It’s like you’re saying GT7 or RE8 or Saints and Sinners, etc were going to look worse in the headset than GT Sport, RE7, and the first Saints on PSVR.

Ridiculous. But most of the comments you make usually are. It’s going to look better. Even based on the video. They’re not going to develop a worse game but build a better one because they have better tools and more power to use and better hardware. But again, you know this already. Just spitting nonsense.

        • ViRGiN

Blablabla, Valve index controllers are supposed to have new features and enhance what developers can do. So what? Nobody cares or invests money into it lol. You never played ps2 games if you compare games to it. Makes you look foolish. First game was built for pcvr you donkey ass, and ported to quest 1 you silly goose. Keep coping, and put all your faith into cg trailer showing no graphics or gameplay. You’re the perfect client. I hope you pre order this downgraded game. Psvr2 can’t handle coop anymore?

          • ApocalypseShadow

Valve Index isn’t standard like Sony’s headset on PS5 dummy. Did you forget idiot?

Every person that has PS VR 2 on PS5 has the same hardware, features and graphics capability. No problem there fool. I don’t play Index to care what features the developer will use there.

The game was also announced on PS VR 2. It tells you that the hardware is a target. Not stand alone crap where dummies play gorilla tag but try to downplay PC gamers for playing that game like you. Worrying about engagement nonsense like Microsoft.

I also know where it was first made shit head before being ported. Go take your psychotic medicine you freak that has a fetish with Valve. The only idiot time and time again that brings Valve into a discussion every time. You’re sick. Get treatment. You need it. The only commentor in VR articles that has a huge social issue. Or just bipolar.
