A screen recording of Zoom’s VR experience

“We’re using the interactive VR experience that we’ve created with eevo to really show the experience of the modern conference room, you can talk about it all you want, but to be able to show it has been absolutely phenomenal.” — Esther Yoon, Zoom Video Communications

The Background on Zoom Rooms

Zoom Video Communications, a leading provider of video communications software solutions, works with massive enterprise customers around their product offering Zoom Rooms. Zoom Rooms provide companies a variety of ways to transform their workspaces into highly functioning meeting spaces. Whether companies need all new hardware from Zoom’s partners, or need to have Zoom’s software integrated with their current communications hardware, Zoom provides easy solutions for making the most of their spaces.

The Challenge

Zoom Rooms come in all shapes and sizes, with different equipment being utilized based on the space. As put by Esther Yoon, the Product Marketing Manager for Zoom’s conference room solutions,

“Before eevo, the challenge we really had was that Zoom Rooms is such an experiential product and I felt like showing photos wasn’t really doing it justice. Zoom’s differentiator is user experience, and experience is almost rarely felt through a static image.”

Without actually bringing people into these spaces, letting someone experience the difference between Zoom Rooms offerings was a serious challenge.

The Solution eevo Provided

Through the use of VR and interactive 360 video on the web, eevo created an experience for Zoom that allowed them to place viewers directly into a variety of environments where they can interact with equipment, see it being used by people, and understand how different equipment / software solutions may make sense for their individual needs.

“By using interactive 360 VR, we were able to capture the breadth of rooms, really showcasing the versatility of Zoom Rooms, from focus rooms, all the way to large training rooms, and that really changed the way we were able to present our solutions.” — Esther Yoon

The Outcome of Working with eevo

When you land on Zoom’s website for their conference room solutions, you’ll soon see, in 360, a large number of Zoom Rooms setups you can click through. You’ll be able to go from one room to the next, selecting equipment to learn and see more about it. You’ll be able to experience the Zoom Rooms Scheduling Display and Digital Signage services and see them in context of the conference room experience. By working with eevo, Zoom can show their conference room experience.

“The internal response to this content that we’ve created has been phenomenal. Currently, we’ve been using the interactive 360/VR experience for many things, things like training, things like demos, and we’re bringing it to our web pages. There’s really a level of flexibility that we’ve had with this piece of content that we really haven’t had before. So that’s been really great for scaling that experience to our customers on the platform that we like.” — Esther Yoon
