Porn-watching citizens are powering Tokyo’s Shibuya district.
As we continue to learn more about the the science behind climate change and its catastrophic potential, it’s more important than ever that we continue to pursue cleaner forms of renewable energy. For most countries, this means investing in energy technologies such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, and a variety of other renewable sources; for Japan, it means bike-riding virgins watching soft core VR pornography in a giant glass box.
Created by Japanese soft core porn company Soft On Demand, the “White Day Illumination Shining with Virgin-Produced Electricity” event celebrates Japan’s annual White Day (Valentine’s Day) by putting porn-loving citizens in VR headsets to enjoy some hassle-free smut from the comfort of a stationary bicycle.

“We propose the world’s first system for extracting energy from videos,” explains Soft On Demand, who specifically requested ‘virgins’ for the event due to a “spurting energy that has nowhere else to go”.
The event, held in Tokyo’s bustling Shibuya District, included a pop-up truck housing several exercise bikes and what appears to be Oculus Rift VR headsets. Attendees were greeted by celebrated adult film stars Hinata Koizumi and Tina Nanami, both of whom appear in the VR film displayed at the event.
The event drew large numbers as curious bystanders wandered over from the street for a closer look at the companies “first-of-its-kind” system.

This is far from Soft On Demand’s first foray into VR porn, however. The company released a series of VR porn booths back in 2018 which included a private viewing area, a VR headset powered by a high-end gaming PC, and stacks upon stacks of clean tissue.
With Japan currently suffering from an ongoing population crisis due to a switch in the priorities among younger generations, VR has steadily become a more prominent tool within the Japanese porn industry, utilized in everything from VR foot rubs where an actual human massages your feet while immersed, to VR ear cleaning where you lay on the lap of a virtual anime character as yet another unlucky human being gives your ears a good once over.
