The second of three Blade Runner 2049 VR games is now available free for the Oculus Rift. If you haven’t seen the new Blade Runner film yet, I suggest you drop what you’re doing and head to a theater immediately. The sequel to the 1982 cult-classic seems to improve on almost every aspect of the original with an engrossing story and some truly stunning visuals.

Today HTC Creative Labs is debuting a beautiful new SteamVR Home environment —the hub space for when players aren’t inside any VR apps—called Driftwood. The environment takes players virtually outside on a beachfront wilderness inspired by the United State’s Pacific Northwest. Not long ago Valve introduced SteamVR Home, a platform for offering VR users a customizable home base from which they can link up with friends and launch VR games and apps.

Ramez Naam. Ramez Naam is the author of The Nexus Trilogy sci-fi novels, which explores the moral and sociological implications of technology that can directly interface with the brain. He gave the keynote at the Experiential Technology Conference in March exploring the latest research into how these interfaces could change the way that we sleep, learn, eat, find motivation to exercise, create new habits of change, and broadcast and receive technologically-mediated telepathic messages.

Resolution Games today revealed the details of their next project called Narrows, a game of swashbuckling pirate adventure. Coming soon on Daydream, Google's platform for high quality, mobile VR, Narrows will follow the studio's wildly successful VR fishing game Bait! "We've been ecstatic about how our first games have been received, but Narrows will be our biggest game yet," said Tommy Palm, co-founder and CEO of Resolution Games.

Warner Bros just launched a horror virtual reality experience for Android users called “IT: Escape from Pennywise VR.” The experience puts viewers inside of Pennywise’s abandoned house, specifically in front of the three doors movie viewers will be familiar with. You’ll have to pick your own path and face whatever fears lie ahead while navigating through the abandoned domicile.

Looking to get scared in VR this Halloween season? Steam’s Halloween sale runs through November 1st, bringing discounts to fright-themed VR titles. Leading the VR portion of the Steam Halloween sale is the fan-favorite zombie shooter Arizona Sunshine , on sale for $30, a 25% discount over the usual price. The recently released Duck Season experienced VR studio Stress Level Zero is also available, discounted by 15%.

If the game has been on your list, now might be a good time to snag it thanks to a 25% discount via Steam through November 1st. In our review of the game , we praised Superhot VR’s “one-of-a-kind bullet-time mechanic that translates phenomenally well to VR.” At the time we were disappointed by the game’s short length despite its enjoyable gameplay.
