Dr. Skip Rizzo heads the Medical VR Research Group at USC’s Institute for Creative Technologies , which has been exploring how to use VR for psychological treatments, cognitive assessment, motor rehabilitation therapy, as well as interactions with virtual humans. He’s been on the forefront of using virtual reality to treat soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorder with virtual exposure therapy.

In a special media event for the "media" KFC unveiled a VR experience that seemed more like Bioshock than a VR Chicken Frying trainer. KFC's first foray into VR will be used as a promotional to regional general manager training classes, quarterly franchise meetings and during corporate onboardings in order to instill pride in KFC’s heritage and process.

Following several months of delays, the last we heard from Meta was that they expected the Meta 2 AR dev kit to begin “volume shipping” in August. Now as we approach the end of the month it appears that the company is confident about ramping up shipping and says the headset’s $950 pre-order price will expire on Monday, August 28th, after which it will be raised to $1,500.

SLIVER.tv, the leading esports 360º virtual reality entertainment platform, announced the close of a $9.8 million series A round of equity funding, led by Danhua Capital, along with Heuristic Capital Partners and ZP Capital. With total funding of $17.5 million to date, the Series A round was also participated by SLIVER.tv’s existing seed investors, including DCM, Sierra Ventures, The VR Fund, Samsung Next Fund and Sony Innovation Fund.

It’s been a good week for fans of FORM : the game has made its way to the Oculus store (and received Rift support on Steam), and now the developers have confirmed work on a new VR project. Form is the impressive first VR title from developer Charm Games , a first-person puzzle game which immerses players in fantastical, dream like architecture and complex geometric details.
