Apple announced WWDC23 will take place June 5-9. Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is a yearly developer-focused Apple event where upcoming versions of its operating systems and SDKs are revealed, and sometimes new Mac hardware too. In recent years WWDC has been fully remote due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but this year Apple will host a “ special in-person experience at Apple Park on June 5″ too.

Rec Room is working on support for body tracking on SteamVR, and hand tracking on Quest. Rec Room’s avatars are currently legless. Support for body tracking on SteamVR, such as strapping on 3 or more Vive Trackers , should arrive alongside or soon after the full-body avatars update , slated for later this year. Full body avatars will be optional, and available regardless of whether you have body tracking equipment.

Littlefield grid turns ten on Saturday, April 1, and will host a week-long birthday party on its Anniversary region. There will be a live performance by OpenSim renowned artist Rogue Galaxy at 5 p.m. Pacific time on April 1, followed by a live DJ dance party with Littlefield’s own DJ Walter Balazic, and a host of exhibitions created by the grid’s residents.

Digital Lode released an Espire 2 update today, introducing 13 new “ highly-replayable short missions” missions called Espire Ops on Quest 2. First released last November, Espire 2 ‘s latest patch is available now. Disney has scrapped its metaverse division and announced 7,000 layoffs, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on Tuesday. Citing familiar sources, the WSJ revealed that Disney planned to axe its metaverse department. The new division aimed to produce Web3 content with the media giant’s intellectual property catalogue. According to reports, Disney laid off the 50-person team.

Seeker: My Shadow brings a new VR co-op puzzle platformer to PSVR 2, available now. Developed by Finnish studio Jestercraft, Seeker: My Shadow appeared on PC VR nearly two years ago, and it’s now leaping onto Sony’s latest VR headset. Playable alone or in two-player co-op, you’ll play as a mountain-sized giant, guiding a small Seeker named Kippo through various puzzles to locate Seeker Eggs.
