Next week, on September 26th-27th, Oculus will perform its annual showcase event: Oculus Connect , that has now arrived at its 5th edition. The latest event, the OC4 has been full of news and interesting information , both on Oculus products and VR in general and I think that this year won’t be different. As all VR enthusiasts, I’m hyped about what will be announced there.

Squanch Games, the game studio founded by Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland, and Crows Crows Crows are bringing Accounting+ (2017) to HTC Vive and Oculus Rift soon. Launched first on PSVR back in late 2017, the game is also getting a big content update that will be available on all supported platforms. In short, Accounting+ is madness incarnate, featuring the sort of offbeat characters you’d expect to leak out of the Justin Roiland’s addled brain.

The first mobile augmented reality app out of the gate with support for Magic Leap One Creator Edition is Thyng, who is planning to release the headset version of the app later this year. Available now for iOS and Android using their respective AR toolkits, Thyng enables users to view photos, videos, and 3D models, including their own content, in their physical space.

Apparently, VR designed for employee training has proven a massive success at Walmart’s various Academy locations, as the multinational superstore has just announced plans to further expand its immersive training program to every single one of its 4,700 locations within the United States.

It appears Google has made some serious headway on its low-cost, mobile inside out VR controller tracking standard first seen back in April. Today the company revealed they’ll be offering developer kits of a pair of new experimental Daydream with positional tracking (aka six degree of freedom, or 6DOF) controllers, which they say will allow devs to build such experiences for the Lenovo Mirage Solo.
