AMC Theaters Buys Into VR With Dreamscape Immersive Deal

Thanks to a new deal made by AMC theatres and LA-based virtual reality startup Dreamscape Immersive , six lucky AMC theaters spread across North America and Europe will soon be home to cooperative VR experiences that blend the line between games and film.

Magic Leap Updates Site in Preparation for the “journey to launch”

Magic Leap today launched a refresh of their official website which includes a new teaser stating that the company wants to “[take] you with us on this journey to launch. More to come…” Magic Leap is the secretive startup apparently building an AR headset based on novel display technology which they call Digital Lightfield. The company has raised more than a billion dollars from some of the world’s leading investment organizations.

Viveport celebrates it’s first birthday with holiday benefits for committed developers. With the holidays just around the corner everyone is starting to get into the giving spirit. This includes HTC, who despite selling its Pixel smartphone team to Google last week is now giving 100% of its holiday app revenue directly to Vive developers. Normally the Taiwanese company extracts 30% of the profits from the sale of a Viveport title, leaving 70% to the developer.
