After over a year on App Lab , everyone’s favorite VR ape simulator Gorilla Tag is set to make its official launch on the Meta Quest Store next month. Originally released back in 2021, the VR ape simulator was an immediate hit among players thanks in large part to its unique movement system and lo-fi visual aesthetic.

Websites can now add a button to let you remotely launch a URL on your Quest. This can be done from any browser on your phone, laptop, PC, tablet, or other device with a modern browser. Clicking the link will navigate to an ‘Open in VR’ interface on Oculus.com asking which headset you want to launch on. The chosen URL can be a regular website or an immersive WebXR experience.

Sony has released a set of motion capture (mocap) wearables in time for the holidays, the company announced in a press release. Sony’s Mocopi mocap system uses six coloured tracking devices, which people can wear on their bodies. Users can place them on ankles, wrists, the head, and the hip to capture and monitor real-time movements to control avatars.

VR concerts come in many forms and so, for the most part, are a pretty mixed bag. The most common form is those found in Horizon Venues, which can sometimes be 2D video streams of live concerts projected onto a large screen in VR for you to watch by yourself or with others.

The kit includes 6 trackers: 2 for your wrists, 2 for your ankles, 1 for your hip, and 1 for your head – though presumably the head tracker isn’t needed in VR mode.
