As Netflix’s onslaught of original programming continues, one of the next targets in its sights is the popular VR-themed anime Sword Art Online. Altered Carbon creator Laeta Kalogridis has confirmed her involvement as executive producer on the project. Speaking recently with Collider , Laeta Kalogridis, the creator behind Altered Carbon’s own novel-to-Netflix treatment, confirmed that a live action adaptation of the Sword Art Online anime is coming to Netflix.

Chialin Chang, HTC’s President of Smartphone and Connected Devices Business, has made his resignation official, reportedly bringing with it a melding of the company’s smartphone and VR divisions—a move that possibly points to the HTC putting greater focus on VR in the face of the company’s waning smartphone business. Magic Leap CEO Rony Abovitz took the stage at the Code Media conference last night to talk a little bit more about the company’s upcoming AR headset, Magic Leap One. While we now know the headset will probably cost the same as a premium computer , Abovitz also co-announced with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver that Magic Leap would be collaborating with the NBA and Turner to develop an AR app for the headset.

Despite HoloLens being now almost two years old, Microsoft isn’t showing any signs of slowing down its plans for the AR headset. Today the company announced that the device is available in two more markets, with rental options rolling out, and a forthcoming hard hat solution to allow the headset to be used in more places. HoloLens was first made available back in 2016 starting at $3,000 as a dev kit, and eventually offered at $5,000 as an enterprise package.

eBay has joined the ranks of retailers dipping their toes in the augmented and virtual reality waters, according to a Fortune report. The online marketplace announced that it is currently developing an AR kit in order to add AR features to its website later this year. One proposed feature will allow shoppers to see how an item would look or fit in its intended space–such as by overlaying the image of tires on a car–before making a bid or a purchase.
