Mixed reality (MR) technology merges real life and virtual reality in real time. Like virtual reality , MR uses headsets or head-mounted displays (HMDs) to display virtual elements in 3D. But unlike VR, mixed reality simulations bring virtual creations to life in a physical space. Where VR is entirely computer-generated, MR can render environments and visualizations where real and virtual objects co-exist, like in AR, but also interact with each other, unlike in augmented reality.

Veteran VR studio Coatsink, currently in development of Jurassic World Aftermath , has been acquired for $30 million by game publisher Thunderful. Coatsink is a British game studio and publisher founded in 2009. Though the studio doesn’t deal exclusively in VR games, about half of Coatsink’s work has been either fully self-developed VR titles or acting as a publisher on VR titles, most of which had the backing of Oculus Studios: Esper (2015).

Iris VR, the game studio behind cyberpunk titles TECHNOLUST (2016) and the still in-production game LOW-FI, teased some new footage recently of its Oculus Quest game AGENCY. Iris VR says Agency is a prequel episode of LOW-FI, the non-linear cyberpunk game which first garnered support through a Kickstarter campaign late last year. Blair Renaud, studio CEO and Creative Director, released a quick sneak peak of Agency, stating that they’ve just pitched the game to Oculus for approval.

In a blog post on Medium today, Intel’s John Bonini has confirmed that the company will be launching its next-generation desktop platform in Q1 2021. This is confirmed as Rocket Lake, presumably under Intel’s 11 th Gen Core branding, and will feature PCIe 4.0 support. It's been nearly two years to the day since NZXT last released a motherboard, which was the Z370 N7. NZXT initially used ECS as its motherboard OEM, but has opted to use ASRock this time round for a new N7 model.
