CraneMorley’s trip to CES 2023 was a massive success. After being invited to the Microsoft booth to show an automotive technical training use-case for the HoloLens 2, augmented-reality headset, with only a matter of weeks to develop the demo, our team showed that when the odds are stacked against us, we can get it done.

The challenge was to develop a self-paced, mixed-reality training module, using Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 Guides authoring software, for an autonomous bus created in partnership between Oceaneering and ZF. The Oceaneering team sent us CAD files for the bus as quickly as they could, which ended up being less than 2 weeks before the event. Putting the finished product together in time was a monumental undertaking, requiring long hours and deferred vacations in order to make it happen.

Not only did we make it happen, the booth became a hit, with lines of CES attendees often exceeding our demo capacity. In all, over 300 demos were given and nothing but rave reviews were received.
