Last week we had the chance to check out Marvel’s Avengers: Damage Control , a new location-based VR experience from ILMxLAB that’s heading to select VOID centers October 18th. Unlike many other location-based experiences featured at The VOID, Avengers: Damage Control relies entirely on hand-tracking when it comes to player interaction.

While past VOID experiences have tended to gravitate around weapon-based gameplay mechanics, including Ghostbusters: Dimensions and Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire , the providers more recent offerings, such as Avengers: Damage Control , have shifted away from physical weapons in favor of hand and gesture-tracking technology.

Today, the company has announced its latest virtual reality (VR) experience in conjunction with Marvel Studios and ILMxLAB, Avengers: Damage Control. Rather than playing one of the famous characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) like you would in Marvel Powers United VR , in Avengers: Damage Control you fight alongside them.
