NBA 2017-2018 VR Highlight Reel Arrives Free On NextVR

Go courtside for this season’s most incredible MVP moments in NextVR’s latest partnership with the NBA.

Since its initial transition into VR content back in 2012, NextVR has become one of, if not the leading provider of live VR event broadcasts. The company has provided  immersive live streaming services for multiple high-profile clients, from the NFL and the International Champions Cup, to the WWE and Live Nation. However it was last year that the organization revealed its most ambitious project – a partnership with the NBA to broadcast 27 games of the 2017-2018 season, featuring all 30 teams, live in VR.

The massive broadcast came to a close this April as Indiana & Charlotte squared-off in the last scheduled live-stream, putting a cap on what one heck of an ambitious project. But for those of us who may have missed the live broadcasts, or just couldn’t swing the pricey Official League Pass subscription, NextVR has unveiled its 2017-2018 MVP highlight reel – a curated collection of only the best dunks, slams, shots, assists from this season’s MVP contenders James Harden, Lebron James, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis.

NextVR has also announced plans to begin releasing rookie of the year highlights as well – featuring up-and-coming talents such as Donovon Mitchell, Jayson Tatum, Ben Simmons. All of these highlights are available for free via the NextVR app for smartphones and VR headsets (also for free).

Including the companies signature 27-game immersive live experience, as well as its ongoing VR live streaming coverage in which users can view over 13 live games via a massive virtual screen, this marks not only NextVR’s third venture alongside the NBA, but its largest as well – continued proof that when it comes to immersive live broadcasting, few can stand next, to NextVR… Get it..?

You can check out the 2017-2018 MVP highlights now via the NextVR app available on the Samsung GearVR, Google Daydream View, PlayStation VR or Windows Mixed Reality headset.
