The new XR laboratory will be located within the campus in Burgas

EON Reality, the global leader in Augmented and Virtual Reality-based knowledge and skills transfer for industry and education and “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” University announce a partnership to build a new EON-XR Center for training and education in the application of augmented and virtual reality on the university’s campus in Burgas. The initiative to create the XR laboratory is also supported by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Municipality Burgas.

The laboratory will enable over 5,000 students and 750 teachers and enterprise users to gain access to EON-XR as well as equipment and specialized software from EON Reality for the next 5 years.

The XR laboratory will operate as part of “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” University — the renowned school named after the famous Bulgarian biochemist — providing access to high-quality digital materials for education. For the school, this has been deemed a key to building digital competitiveness while also increasing the level of qualification of the students and trainees. The partnership between the two organizations is dictated by their desire for scientific and academic cooperation based on development and educational activities.

The Burgas XR laboratory will be the first of its kind in Bulgaria at this scale and will be focused around EON Reality’s solutions, such as EON-XR. Guided by the principle “Learn, Train, Perform,” EON-XR contains the backend support and architecture that large organizations like this university need to quickly and efficiently build, deploy, and scale XR applications. Local leaders also believe that the new XR laboratory is an important step towards the establishment of Burgas as a center for the growing IT industry.
