TV presenter's ecstatic live reaction to Australia making World Cup is absolute gold

Sheer, unfiltered glee.

After a hard-fought battle, Australia officially qualified for the 2022 World Cup on Tuesday after beating Peru on penalties. They'll play in Group D against France, Denmark, and Tunisia in the upcoming tournament in November.

Needless to say, people were pretty excited by the result, and on air presenters were absolutely no exception.

Behold this reaction from Tony Armstrong, sports presenter for the ABC's News Breakfast show, who was on hand during the moment the Socceroos clenched it.

Truly glorious.

For context, although Australia played in the 2018 World Cup, this is still only the sixth time they've qualified overall, and qualifying for any World Cup is always competitive — so it's a big moment for a big reaction.
