We’ve been waiting for years for Apple to reveal its mixed reality products, including visors and glasses. We’ve been seeing the potential coming in other products like the Oculus Quest, the Magic Leap 1, or Microsoft’s Hololens. So it makes sense to upgrade all audio, which Apple is in the middle of doing. Look at Apple Music.

Weekly Funding Roundup: Lightform gets $26 million, Vive X is investing in 30 startups, Facebook hiring former Apple engineer, & Sliver VR raised $16 million in VC funding. Lightform is funded by Lux , Seven Seas , the National Science Foundation , and Steven LaValle (a former principal scientist at Oculus).

I gave a presentation of the first idea of a videodisc of the “ Plastico ” at a private conference held at Apple Computer in 1986 (my talk was published in 1998 here ). The Oculus Rift shipped in spring 2016. At the moment, this means solutions such as the Samsung Gear VR and the Oculus GO. Rome Reborn 3.0
