SAVE $35.80: The Sonos Roam portable speaker is on sale for $143.20 at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and Target, and on Sonos.com, as of June 6. That's 20% off its $179 MSRP, which is its biggest discount to date.

The Mashable's Choice Award-winning Sonos Roam is finally seeing a worthwhile discount, and all it took were 14 months and the release of a newer model.

As of June 6, the brand's website is running a 20% off sale that brings the Roam down to $143.20 — a new all-time low from its suggested retail price of $179. That works out to a savings of just over $35. (Note that Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and Target are all matching the deal.) Take your pick from two colors: shadow black and lunar white.

First launched in April 2021 with a starting price of $169 (which was later upped to its current MSRP because of the global chip shortage), the Roam is an "endearing and great-sounding portable speaker that you can use in just about any way you want," wrote Mashable tech reporter Alex Perry. It features a durable waterproof build and a 10-hour battery life, with easy pairing via Bluetooth or Apple AirPlay 2. It also works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant if you want to go hands-free.

The Roam was succeeded in March by the $159 Sonos Roam SL, an almost identical-looking speaker that scraps the built-in mic — meaning there's no smart assistant support, Automatic Trueplay technology for environment-based tuning, or Sound Swap feature for switching playback between speakers. We'd normally recommend it as an affordable alternative to the standard Roam, but you might as well just get the OG with this pricing.
