SAVE $171: The Cricut Maker is on sale for $229 at Walmart (in the Champagne shade only) as of May 19. That's 42% in savings. We haven't seen the price this low since last Black Friday.

In the world of DIY cutting machines, the Cricut Maker is the Mercedes-Benz: In addition to paper products, it can cut leather, wood, and other hefty materials. It's for the most dedicated crafters among us, but all of its perks do come with a steeper price tag.

Fortunately, DIY experts can grab the original Cricut Maker on sale for just $229 (in the Champagne shade only) at Walmart as of May 19. That's a $171 price drop from its MSRP and the lowest price we've seen since last Black Friday.

With a massive suite of tools and advanced rotary and knife blades, the Maker opens up all kinds of doors to new crafting projects. It can precision cut over 300 materials, from delicate fabric and paper to matboard and leather. Plus, it works with 13 different tools to cut, score, write, deboss, engrave, and more. These include a rotary blade (included), a knife blade for thicker materials, a foil transfer tool for embellishments, a fine point pen for drawing and writing (included), and more.

It's not the cheapest or even the newest of Cricut machines, but the original Maker's versatility and advanced tools make it worth the money — especially when it's $171 off.
