Plenty of products go viral online. And in 2022, the majority of those products come from TikTok. Going viral doesn't always mean the product is worth buying, but sometimes it does. Case in point: the Revlon One-Step.
A beloved cult-favorite of TikTokers, the Revlon One-Step is the Dyson Airwrap dupe you can actually afford. And as of May 12, it's even more budget-friendly. It regularly costs just $59.99, but it's on sale for $34.88 at Walmart — that's 42% in savings.
The Revlon One-Step aims to turn wet hair into a sleek, voluminous blowout with minimal frizz in — wait for it — one step. It has a 4.25-inch barrel, which makes for some serious volume at your roots. Its nylon pin and tufted bristles help detangle your hair as you style it, while the three heat settings (along with a cool option) give you styling flexibility. It can't do everything the Dyson Airwrap can do, but it's also only a fraction of the cost, so there's that.
Mashable reporter Bethany Allard reviewed the One-Step last month and, while admitting it's definitely not the holy grail of hair products, said "the ravings about the One-Step on TikTok do not lie." She touted its quick styling time, minimal learning curve, and of course, its unbeatable price. As for cons, it's kind of bulky and can't actually be used as just a hair dryer without risking some heat damage. Her advice? Don't forget a heat protectant.
If you're looking for a lazy person's perfect hair tool, it doesn't get much simpler than the One-Step. And for deal seekers, it doesn't get much more affordable either. While not quite its lowest price ever, 42% is definitely a solid discount.
