Cloudhead Games “Made-for-arcades” action-rhythm first-person shooter Pistol Whip debuts in arcades and around the world Nov. 7.

PRESS RELEASE

Los Angeles — October 30th, 2019 — SpringboardVR, a station management, game launching, and content distribution platform for Location-based VR will be offering Pistol Whip to Location Based Entertainment locations worldwide on Nov. 7th.

To support the arcade launch, Cloudhead Games is offering free licensing on launch day, Nov. 7, to allow arcade operators to download, evaluate and train their employees on this year’s most anticipated VR game. After launch day, Pistol Whip will be priced at seven cents per minute on the platform.

Pistol Whip is a fast-paced and musical VR first-person shooter inspired by the visceral action of games like SUPERHOT, and the flow-state rhythm of games like Beat Saber. Journey through a cinematic bullet hell powered by a breakneck soundtrack to become the ultimate action hero legend.

Unlike traditional music games, Pistol Whip has no “line in the sand”; you have complete freedom to shoot, melee, and dodge targets to the rhythm YOU see fit.

Some say that while VR may be cool, “it’s not sexy.” Luckily, Pistol Whip has created an experience that is both fun to play and makes you feel like a total badass when you’re playing it.

Cloudhead Games have created their title with VR Arcades in mind from day one in an effort to make Pistol Whip a staple title for LBE.

Jo Dunlop, Communications & Business Development for Cloudhead Games, said that Pistol Whip takes the hyper-accessible action of arcade light gun games like Time Crisis and Virtua Cop, and combines it with the rhythmic flow-state of VR smash hits like Beat Saber.

“We have been analyzing the market for years and have talked to many LBE operators to learn what works and what doesn’t, Dunlop said. “We wanted to develop a game that will work flawlessly in LBE while having extra layers of depth for the home audience.”

Pistol Whip was designed from the ground up to be easy to learn and exciting to master, encouraging endless replayability. As the cherry on top, players will feel like a true badass action hero, inspired to return for session after session.
