Announced at the Samsung Developer conference last week, the 360 Round is the company’s new camera for creating and streaming 4K 3D content. A total of 17 lenses (eight stereo pairs aligned horizontal, and one centered vertical lens), and 6 internal microphones allows for capturing 3D 360 video and spatial audio.

It may be hard to believe but its been four years since Samsung and Oculus first announced their smartphone-powered Gear VR headset. In darker times, the best 360° videos we had access too were grainy, nauseating clips of GoPro stunts and claustrophobic concerts. I’m not sure which impresses me more. Let’s get lost.

Samsung AR glasses concept has been leaked. Popular Twitter leaker WalkingCat has leaked two trailer videos about two AR glasses by Samsung.

Samsung just opened their own version of an immersive theme park for music fans attending Lisbon’s Rock in Rio festival, one of the largest music festivals in the world. In what Samsung is calling the Galaxy Adventure Park, experiences include a Gear 360 Sky Diving Selfie station and Gear VR Volcano Bungee simulator.

Samsung confirms 5+ million Gear VR headsets are now in use worldwide, announced at their CES 2017 keynote. In his opening speech at CES 2017 this week, Samsung Electronics America president Tim Baxter announced that the company now has “more than 5 million” Gear VR virtual reality headsets in use.
