The recent addition to EON Reality’s network will add a variety of new lessons and courses to EON-XR’s growing library.

EON Reality, the global leader in Augmented and Virtual Reality-based knowledge and skills transfer for industry and education, announces the latest large-scale adoption of the recent AR and VR self-directed learning initiative at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (LUASA) in Switzerland.

Combined with the efforts of schools like the University for Business and Technology — whose 7,400 active users have recently added nearly 55,000 assets to EON-XR as a part of their lesson and course development — Aldini Valeriani Institute, and the University of the Western Cape, Lucerne University’s new uptick in content creation will be a driving force in bringing AR and VR lessons to educators and students around the world.

By allowing students and educators to create lessons and other classroom materials for use by others, EON-XR is able to ensure the delivery of useful and topical content for all levels of courses in virtually any language. It also allows high-level educators and experts to provide quality control of what gets distributed when they select the best of the batch to supplement the existing curricula already included within EON Reality’s industry-leading library.

The push to add more lessons to the tens of thousands already available through the company’s flagship product comes as educators of all types turn to EON-XR as a means to learn and train remotely during and in the aftermath of the current pandemic. As explained in the Global Emergency Initiative, EON Reality’s primary goal over the last few months has been to provide as many AR and VR lessons and resources as possible to schools and businesses. Now, as the long-term economic and academic impacts become apparent, EON has shifted these goals to include proper distribution of the lessons to help make the slow transition back into the physical classroom smoother and less rushed.

“Considering that many students may not safely be able to enter a classroom until 2021 at the earliest, the need for EON-XR is greater than ever. We’re very excited to continue to have amazing schools like the LUASA contribute to building up the lessons and courses for students around the globe, as academia has always been about building a community centered around learning. We hope to expand our partnerships and build this community even further in the future.”

So far, the LUASA has about two dozen professors leading the self-directed learning charge and developing AR and VR content alongside their students. As adoption continues to spread across the School of Information Technology and the rest of LUASA, there will no doubt be growth among the students and within the community as well.

“EON-XR provides us with additional opportunities to deal with the current situation. It allows for a novel and interesting approach within our range of bachelor’s and master’s programs as well as our professional education programs. The COVID-19-related sudden change to distance learning used up a great deal of resources, but now we can focus on new content and approaches again. It will likely boost the use of digital formats and have a positive and increasingly strong impact.”
