Post Malone To Perform Live VR Concert Later This Month

Catch the rapper, singer-songwriter live in VR October 17th on Oculus Quest and Go.

Oculus Venues has been killing it as of late with its series of live musical performances. Over the past 6 months, the popular VR streaming platform has hosted live performances from a surprising amount of major acts.

This past August Billie Eilish made her VR debut on the platform with an immersive live stream of her performance in Spain, followed by GRAMMY-winning singer and multi-instrumentalist H.E.R., who performed live on the platform the following month.

For the month of October, Oculus Venues is once again stepping up its game with a live VR performance by American rapper, singer/songwriter Post Malone. Produced in collaboration with immersive streaming company Supersphere — the same team behind the Billie Eilish and Tenacious D live streams, among many others — users on either Oculus Go or Oculus Quest headsets can log into Oculus Venues October 18th at 5pm PT/8pm ET to catch a VR180 live stream of Malone’s stop in Raleigh, North Carolina as part of his ongoing “Runaway Tour.”

This marks the second time the “Wow” and “Better Now” singer has performed for a live VR audience. Last year Malone teamed up with MelodyVR for an immersive live stream of his sold-out show at the Toyota Music Factory. The 360-degree stream included five separate “Jump Spots” scattered throughout the venue, allowing viewers to view the action on-stage, in the pit with the crowd, and from a variety of other locations.

Oculus Venues is available to download free on both Oculus Go and Oculus Quest headsets — sorry Rift/Rift S users. The artist will be performing tracks off his latest album, Hollywood Bleeding, which is his second to reach #1 on the Billboard Top 200; the first being his GRAMMY-nominated debut, Beerbongs and Bentleys.
