EON Reality received the award for the best technological collaboration together with SATS for “Project Arrow – Augmented Reality on Ramp Operations Workforce” at the annual Singapore International Chamber of Commerce (SICC) Awards gala dinner. Project Arrow beat out technical collaborations from NCS and Bridgestone Corporation, Procter & Gamble and Feige Filling Technology, and Robert Bosch and Unified Inbox.Sridhar Sunkad, fourth from the right, accepts the award for EON Reality.

The SATS and EON Reality collaboration leverages EON Reality’s AR Assist technology to provide SATS’ ramp handling crew with critical information and loading instructions in real-time. Using AR glasses, workers can scan QR codes on baggage or cargo containers to see details in their view such as weight, unit number, loading sequence, and the specified position in the aircraft’s hold. By moving to a hands-free augmented reality solution, SATS has been able to improve safety, accuracy, and efficiency of baggage and cargo loading.

Additionally, Singapore’s Education Minister Ong Ye Kung spoke at the award ceremony and highlighted how innovative local firms will play a very important role as the economic environment shifts to local IP development versus attracting foreign investment. She also emphasized that a shift to a more entrepreneurial mindset would be required in order to compete more effectively on the global stage.
