Major retailers are now publishing their much awaited Black Friday deals, and by far one of the largest sales to cover VR stuff thus far comes from Best Buy. Sizable discounts come to Oculus Rift, VR-ready computers, Gear VR, and much more.

Update (11/09/17): A laptop featuring a GTX 1050 was removed from the list for not meeting Oculus’ minimum spec requirements. The GTX 1050 Ti however has gotten the green light from Oculus as a minspec GPU.

When & Where

The sale will run from November 23-25. Best Buy’s ‘Door Buster Deals’ start at 5PM on Thursday in stores, but you can bypass the crowds by purchasing from BestBuy.com. If you’re planning on braving the masses, make sure to check out the FAQ first, because as usual, Best Buy is organizing the sale through tickets which are handed out to those waiting in line. Now for the deals.

Oculus Rift + Touch Bundle

As an official retail partner of Oculus in the US, Best Buy is advertising the Oculus Rift + Touch bundle for $350, a $50 savings from the permanent MSRP of $400. As with all current Oculus Rift purchases, you’ll be getting 6 free games including Robo Recall, Lucky’s Tale, Quill, Medium, Dead and Buried, and Toybox.

There’s also a bevy of PC options if you’re starting from scratch too.

Oculus Ready PCs

There’s an Oculus Ready GPU in the bunch as well, the minspec PNY GTX 1050 Ti 4GB, making for a quick drop-in if you already have a PC that’s almost all the way there. To find out what your computer needs to be Oculus Ready, check out our handy guide.

I predicted this earlier last (week.)[https://www.roadtovr.com/vive-hanging-onto-steam-majority-market-share-thread/]

David Herrington • 6 days ago
“If HTC doesn’t do something soon (which I think they will) then they will be eclipsed by Oculus users very quickly. My prediction is that HTC will drop the price of the Vive around Thanksgiving to $400, and Oculus will drop the price of the Rift to $350 at Christmas/Thanksgiving.”

Now lets see if the other part comes true!! :)

    • Firestorm185

Now was your prediction for a permanent or temporary holiday price drop for the Vive?

      • David Herrington

For the Rift it will be a temporary drop then go back to $400. For the Vive I expect (hope) it to drop to $400-ish and then go back to ~$500 after holidays.

        • Firestorm185

Oh yeah, the Rift’s a no-brainer to go back to 400$, but that’s an interesting proposition for the Vive. ^^

I wish they had not used the name “Oculus Rift” and thought of something better, with one word. I can’t think of one though lol, any ideas?

    • yag

Wut ? Every product has a brand name and a model name.

      • Ragbone

        The new ” ” hasn’t.

  • John

The listed laptops are not VR Ready. The guide just below the list recommends higher mincspecs than those listed (GTX 1060)

  • JohnP

Those laptops are not VR Ready. Your guide to VR link right below them lists the minimum specs as a GTX 1060 card.

  • Chris Richardson

I tried out 3 laptops. One had and i7 and 1050TI. Maybe the thing was configured wrong, but it passed all the tests and performed like shit. The two 1060 MSI laptops fared much better. I wouldn’t go any lower than that.
