‘Star Wars: Tales From The Galaxy’s Edge’ Now Available On Oculus Quest & Oculus Quest 2

Team up with classic characters on a series of dangerous quests throughout the Star Wars timeline.

ILMxLAB and Lucasfilm’s latest Star Wars VR adventure, Star Wars: Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge is available now on Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2 headsets.

Developed in collaboration with Oculus Studios, Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge has you stepping into the shoes of a lowly repair technician who—after crash-landing on the planet of Batuu—finds themselves caught up in a dangerous conflict involving a ruthless Guavian Death Gang led by Tara Rashin (Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s Debra Wilson).

Thankfully, you won’t be alone in your deep space struggles. Throughout your time on Batuu you’ll meet up with a diverse cast of characters, from familiar faces such as R2-D2 and C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) to newcomers like Mubo (Star Wars stalwart Matthew Wood), owner of Black Spire Outpost’s Droid Depot. With their assistance you’ll explore never-before-seen areas of Batuu, battle alien creatures using a variety of weaponry, and uncover ancient mysteries. And this is just the primary adventure!

By speaking with Seezelslak (SNL’s Bobby Moynihan), a chatty cantina owner located on Batuu, you’ll unlock a myriad of anthological stories set throughout different eras and locations in the Star Wars universe. The first installment, Temple of Darkness, takes place during the newly-established High Republic era and has you stepping into the role of a young Jedi Padawan named Ady Sun’Zee (voiced by Ellie Araiza) as she teams up with Master Yoda (Frank Oz) to take on a dangerous enemy.

Despite having only spent a short amount of time with Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge I’m already excited by the potential of this open-ended experience. Where as Vader Immortal offered a bite-sized adventure that left you feeling starved for more, Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge functions almost like a central hub for Star Wars VR content. As ILMxLAB continues to expand the core experience with additional missions, it’ll be interesting to see how the game grows over time.

Stay tuned for our full review.
