VR Horror Game Don't Knock Twice Gets Release Date

Wales Interactive revealed the release date for their upcoming PSVR, HTC Vive, and Oculus Rift horror game, Don’t Knock Twice. Announced last year, the final product will arrive on September 5th for $19.99 in North America and £15.99 in the UK. It will also be playable sans VR headset on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Due to Microsoft’s lack of VR support, Xbox owners will only pay $14.99/£9.99. Pre-orders on Steam and Xbox One begin today.

Don’t Knock Twice is based on a movie of the same name released last September and starring Battlestar Galactica alum Katee Sackhoff. The developers stress that the game includes options to make the experience creepy and immersive regardless of what hardware players happen to own. It supports the Oculus and Vive motion controllers, as well as PlayStation Move. The two to three-hour first-person adventure can be enjoyed as a seated, standing, or room scale experience.

“We found that many VR gamers are restricted to what they can play because they don’t have access to one particular device or platform. [This] is sometimes resolved by throwing VR support on top of a traditional game, which is not what we’ve done here,” said Wales Interactive PR & Communications Manager Ben Tester.

Earlier this year, UploadVR highlighted Don’t Knock Twice as one of 7 VR Horror Games to Look Forward to After Playing Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Those eager to scare themselves early can always try the playable demo released last year.
