Open-World Survival Sim ‘Green Hell’ Heading To PC VR & Oculus Quest

Struggle to survive the many perils of the Amazonian rainforest Q3 2021.

Developer Incuovo today revealed that an official VR version of the popular open-world survival game Green Hell will be arriving on PC VR and the Oculus Quest the third quarter of 2021, offering headset owners a painfully-realistic psychological thriller that will have them battling wildlife as well as the elements as they attempt to escape a dense tropical hellscape.

Developed by Creepy Jar, Green Hell launched on PC back in 2019 after spending roughly a year in early access. Set within the luxuriant Amazonian Rainforest, this unique survival crafting experience has you struggling to survive the elements as you battle blood-thirsty savages, vicious wildlife, and even mother nature herself. Unlike competing titles such as Minecraft or Subnautica (both of which available in VR), Green Hell takes the survival crafting genre in a much darker direction. In addition to human and animal threats, you’ll face dangers like fatigue, hunger, thirst, and tropical illnesses, as well as the psychological challenges brought on by prolonged isolation.

As for the “VR version” Incuovo describes, it’s unclear at this time whether or not this will be an independent release or an update for the original PC game.

“We recently finished pre-production of our newest project – Green Hell VR.
Currently our team is working on the alpha version which will unveil the game’s great virtual reality potential. We are focused on the last mechanics’
implementation which will ensure an incredible level of immersion. Incuvo is making a strong effort to meet the players’ expectations which we know are very high,” says Andrzej Wychowaniec, CEO of Incuvo, in the official release.

As previously stated, Green Hell VR is scheduled to launch Q3 2021 on PC VR headsets followed by an official Oculus Quest/Quest 2 release later in the year.

Green Hell is available now for $24.99 via Steam. According to Creepy Jar, a PS4 and Xbox release is scheduled or launch by the end of the year.
