News: Devilish Lil Nas X AR Experience Debuts on Jadu App

Who had Lil Nas X, blood-drop Nikes, and satan worship on your 2021 bingo card?

In a story that's stranger than fiction, the "Old Town Road" rapper has ruffled some feathers with the video for his new single, "MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)" filled with demonic imagery usually reserved for death metal bands.

As if that weren't enough, his collaboration with sneaker designer MSCHF to release "Satan Shoes" (customized Nike Air Max 97s with human blood-infused ink injected into the shoe's air pocket) has resulted in a lawsuit from Nike.

Capitalizing on the fervor, AR app Jadu has collaborated with Lil Nas X to create a volumetric video that lets you "have a conversation" with the artist.

Available now in the App Store, Lil Nas X appears dressed in red angel wings, red slacks, black tank top, and a leather bag slung across his shoulder.

He paces around nervously having a one-sided conversation, with space in between his lines. This allows users to record video with their own dialogue and share the virtual conversation on social media. In other words, this is tailor-made for TikTok, with one video accruing more than 80,000 likes as of this writing.

While the AR experience was meant to help promote his new single, it kind of seems superfluous given the controversy Lil Nas X has garnered for the music video. At any rate, now you can get in on the act.
