The Biggest Rift, Vive and Windows VR Releases For The Week 09/16/18

There’s a hearty assortment of interesting new titles on offer for your PC VR headset this week. Even if you’re not privy to the intense thrills of Transference, there’s probably something for you here.

Paperville Panic, from Ultimerse
Price: $19.99 (Rift, Vive, Windows VR)

Paperville Panic is a lovely little spot where everything is made out of wonderful colors. Unfortunately, it also has a tendency to, um, burn down. That’s where you come in; you’ll fight your way through a single-player campaign filled with evil arson, putting down fires and bringing those responsible to justice. We can’t speak to how good Paperville Panic is but its different subject matter does make it seem like an ironic breath of fresh air.

Transference, from Spectrevision
Price: $24.99 (Rift, Vive)

The latest VR game published by Ubisoft is this incredibly intense psychological thriller that mixes live-action footage with full CG environments for an assault on the sense like no other. Explore a series of disturbing experiments that take you on a descent into madness in this gloomy game, which is only recommended for the bravest amongst us. We really like Transference, even if it is on the short side.

Blind, from Tiny Bull Studios
Price: $24.99 (Rift, Vive)

Blind is a VR puzzle game in which you play as a woman that’s lost her sight. Held captive in a giant mansion, you explore your surroundings using echolocation, tapping surfaces with a white cane to create a temporary view of the world around you. It’s got a thoughtful presentation behind it, but the infuriating puzzles make the game far too much of a slog to see through.

Distance, from Refract
Price: $24.99 (Rift, Vive)

A game that’s long been in Early Access finally hits its full release this week. Distance is a grabity-defying racer with full, optional VR support. Speed down circuits and then take to the skies in futuristic vehicles. Distance is a racer unlike anything else you’ve played in VR, and absolutely work a look for fans of the genre.
