Magic Leap One's Battery Life, Memory Specs Revealed

Last week, Magic Leap gave us an additional peek at its Lumin OS and more tutorials that show how its device works with virtual content. But details about the hardware wasn't included in the array of new information.

Now, thanks to a developer with a keen eye for source code, we have more information regarding how the Magic Leap One will actually operate while in use.

According to our source, the storage capacity for the Magic Leap One will be 128GB, with approximately 95GB available to applications. In terms of memory, the device will offer 8GB on the system, with 4GB available to apps.

Additionally, the battery life of the hip-mounted Lightpack pack appears to be up to three hours of continuous usage. However, the documentation states that, "battery life can vary based on use cases. Power level will be sustained when connected to an AC outlet." The power module for stationary usage is a 45-watt USB-C charger.

As for the Control hardware, which acts as an interface for virtual objects beyond gestures and head movements, that device contains a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that delivers up to seven and a half hours of continuous use and comes with a 15-watt USB-C charger.

While none of these specs have been confirmed directly by Magic Leap, our source found them in a block of text that was commented out in the public client-side source of their website, so we have a high degree of confidence that these are the specs Magic Leap fans will get at launch.
