Crossing Blades With Ironclad Giants In Swords Of Gargantua

Going toe-to-toe with the Gods themselves is just as intimidating as you’d think.

*UPDATE [6.25.2019]: Corrections have been made clarifying the number of available missions and cross-play functionality.*

Available now on SteamVR, Oculus Rift/Rift S, and Oculus Quest, Swords of Gargantua is all about big battles against even bigger enemies.

Set in a world where ancient Gods known as the Alpha have destroyed the world after losing control of their Godlings—creatures born by the Alpha to participate in wars for their amusement—Swords of Gargantua revolves around arena-style combat with a focus on realistic sword-based combat against both standard Godlings and massive God-like monsters.

The game features a unique approach to VR swordplay in which you parry attacks using a sword or shield in order to highlight openings in the enemies defenses, represented by green spheres. You can then attack these openings for points, eventually taking down the enemy in the process; sidestepping attacks can also open up weak points.

If your weapon or shield takes too much damage, it will eventually become unusable and you’ll have to locate a new one. If you grow a liking to a particular sword, you can apply various enchantments to lengthen the life of the weapon and strengthen your arsenal. If you do yourself without a functioning weapon, you can always throw them at your enemy as a last resort. There are also three throwing knives located below each elbow.

As of right now, there are 100 single player missions available, although the 4-player online multiplayer coop is where the game really shines. The game does support cross-platform play between all platforms, as well as cross-buy between Oculus Rift/Rift S and Oculus Quest. Swords of Gargantua is available now on SteamVR and Oculus for $19.99. As previously stated, there are currently 100 single player missions available with over 30 different weapons to unlock.
