The award-winning solution will help the Australian university to create online solutions for their remote learning.

EON Reality, the global leader in Augmented and Virtual Reality-based knowledge and skills transfer for industry and education, announces that Swinburne University of Technology in Australia is initiating a pilot implementation of EON-XR as a means to deliver immersive learning experiences to its students.

Designed for approximately 200 students to be able to utilize the AR and VR platform as an online learning solution during the ongoing pandemic, Swinburne’s utilization of EON-XR will provide an immersive way for online students and instructors to partake in hands-on learning this fall until they’re able to return to on-campus courses.

“We are continuing to see a rapid adaptation of EON-XR on a global scale, and we are honored to now include Swinburne University of Technology among our many users of this platform. With a growing demand for interactive, immersive and remote online learning, situations like this are exactly why EON-XR has launched as one of the go-to solutions for schools and businesses around the world.”

Dan LejerskarFounder of EON Reality

Having always been a future-focused institution with interest in the latest technology, Swinburne’s adoption of EON-XR is merely the latest step they’ve taken in normalizing XR options for both online and in-person learning activities. But whereas previous uses involved complex installations for specific instances, the fact that EON-XR can provide immersive online learning solutions across a wide variety of devices without any previous coding or VR experience makes it a much more appealing proposition for a large-scale adoption.

“We have already been using EON Reality’s AR and VR software solutions with great success in our Industry 4.0 curriculum in the School of Engineering. With EON-XR, we will now be able to continue to deliver interactive and immersive education online even with the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. The fact that students can use EON-XR on their mobile devices, easily create presentations in AR and VR and then collaborate in Augmented Reality in multi-user sessions creates a paradigm shift in how we can deliver education remotely and online.”
