Vive's Deluxe Audio Strap Sells Out

Yesterday saw the anticipated launch of the Deluxe Audio Strap for the HTC Vive. If you haven’t picked one up yet, though, you might have to wait a bit longer; it’s already sold out in a number of regions.

Both the US and UK accessory sites for Vive are out of stock right now, though some other territories like Australia still have units on offer (we wouldn’t recommend trying to import from there, though). We’ve reached out to HTC to find out when fresh shipments will arrive for anyone still interested in grabbing one. It’s also out of stock at the online Microsoft Store.

For $99.99 the Deluxe Audio Strap replaces the traditional head strap that comes with your HTC Vive. Two earphones are fitted to the device, providing immersive, convenient audio without requiring the user to plug yet another wire into the already cumbersome setup. The Vive’s biggest rival, the Oculus Rift, comes with a similar integrated audio solution already fitted, while PlayStation VR (PSVR) has a third-party solution too.

Vive accessories do have a tendency to sell out quickly; the same happened with the TPCast wireless upgrade kit when Asian pre-orders launched late last year. Hopefully it’s not long before a plentiful supply of fresh units come in.
