FX Series ‘Legion’ Gets Augmented Reality Art Experience

FX promotes its new X-Men-related show with cool augmented reality art murals.

One of the years most anticipated new shows, Legion, premieres this February 8th on FX and the network is advertising the interesting new show by launching five augmented reality murals spread across the United States. Not only that, but FX will also be hosting a three-day art exhibition in New York featuring renowned artists called Legion Where? House.

North Avenue & N. Western Avenue; Los Angeles, CA at Hollywood Boulevard & Vine Street; San Francisco, CA at Fillmore Street & Union Street. Users simply download the Blippar app, available on the App Store or Google Play, then “aim and frame the art to watch the power of Legion come to life.” If you feel like owning some of the art yourself for later viewing, posters featuring the augmented reality imagery will be given away at 56 different comic shops across the U.S (while supplies last). Check out a timelapse of one of the murals being created and used for the first time below:

The Legion Where? House art exhibition will launch this Friday, January 27th and run until Sunday, January 29th at Villain warehouse in Brooklyn, New York. There you can check out exclusive art centered around the many themes of Legion. This includes a forced perspective art piece by Michael Murphy, the Legion key art mural by David Flores, a found materials installation by Clemens Behr, a multimedia installation inspired by the series and a light and shadow installation by Kumi Yamashita.

Marvel Comic’s Legion, starring Dan Stevens, premieres February 8th on FX. Not only does the show boast an impressive supporting cast, but just its teaser makes me believe this could be one of the most unique programs ever to hit television.
